Catch Restaurant & Lounge

Nestled in the lee of Morgan’s Harbor, Catch is the inspiration of restauranteurs Walter Fajette and Cristiano Vincentini.  United by their love of alfresco dining and the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea, Walter and Cris opened the restaurant in December 2014 with the sole mission to serve only the Islands’ freshest catch.

Years ago, Cris and Walter became great friends while working together at Calypso Grill, and then in 2010 achieved their dream of creating Agua, a very successful restaurant along Seven Mile beach, that recently moved to Camana Bay.  So Catch is their second successful restaurant venture.  As this month’s Passenger Pick of the Month, we wanted to learn more about the story behind Catch, so recently we caught up with Walter and Cris.

PP:  Passengers love both Catch and Agua, they go many times to both!  Walter, what are the differences?

WF:  The main difference of course is the location.  Agua is at Camana Bay.  Catch is located right on the ocean.

PP:  Why the name Catch?

WF:  We wanted to find an easy, ‘Catchy’ name, plus the reflection of our fresh Catch of the day on the menu.

PP:  Cris, what advantages do you have being right on the water at Morgan’s Harbor?

CV:  It’s nice to be located on the water when you are on an Island, when tourists are in the Caribbean, they want to dine right on the ocean, so that is a plus for us, the scenery is fantastic and a perfect place for a romantic date night or a family dinner.

PP:  It is a beautiful, peaceful location.  Folks love that you have two different menu’s for two great restaurants.  Was that by design?

WF:  It was.  At Catch we created a completely different menu than Agua so people can go to both places trying different things.  Being right on the water where the fisherman come back with the fresh fish, our menu reflects that, same for the vegetables, greens and fruits we try to use as much local produce as possible.

PP:  Delicious!  Tell us about your New Sunday Brunch at Catch.  Is it the same as Agua?

CV:  Again for Catch we created something different.  While at Agua is Buffet Style, at Catch it is an A La Carte Menu in addition to our regular lunch menu from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Also on Sunday we have specials on Tiki Cocktails.  We also just added our Brunch menu on Saturdays as well and on that day we have specials on Gin and Tonics and Aperol drinks.

PP:  Many folks enjoy your signature drinks at Catch.  Who are your mixologists?

WF:  Yes, we quickly became well known for our Cocktails, we have two great guys behind the Bar, Juan Manuel from Madrid Spain and Federico from Uruguay.  It’s great to see them working, you can just feel the passion they have for what they do.

PP:  We’re hearing a lot about your full moon evenings.  Tell us all about them.

CV:  Our full moon evenings are wonderful.  We have live music and specials on Patron Tequila Cocktails.  Dining under a full moon is something that shouldn’t be missed at Catch!

Folks, Catch focuses on fresh locally caught seafood, hearty meat dishes and exquisite cocktails.  Consider starting with the local wahoo and tuna carpaccio with cilantro, or perhaps the local kale salad with pickled jicama, before finishing off with a local catch of the day, a delicious selection from the sea.  With such a superb waterfront setting, we recommend arriving early by car or boat to unwind with a cocktail before your meal.
