Perhaps no other Caribbean nation celebrates its pirate legends and cultural heritage quite like the Cayman Islands, which erupts into a festival of spectacle and pageantry during our annual Pirates Fest.

Embark on a 4-week journey of celebrating the uniqueness of each District, while learning the importance of how Pirates, Buccaneers, Corsairs and Privateers shaped our islands, the surrounding region and our Maritime heritage.  The islands will come alive again with delicious food, crafts and fun that creates an inclusive atmosphere for families and individuals alike.

Pirates Fest 2023 festivities kicks off in Little Cayman on Friday November 3rd – Sunday the 5th, moves on to Grand Cayman on Thursday November 9th – Saturday the 19th, and finally close out on Cayman Brac from Friday November 24th – Sunday the 26th.

Pirates Fest 2023 will include fun filled days of mock “pirate invasions” and celebration of our culture and heritage!  Spectators will also enjoy a series of parades and fireworks displays, street dances, costume contests, sporting competitions, happy hours, a celebration of traditional foods, music and much more, stretching across all three islands.

On Saturday November 11th we have fun events from early morning to late night.  You won’t want to miss the hilarious Cardboard Regatta as home-made cardboard “ships” test their structural integrity while attempting to race each other without sinking.  How many will make it this year?  Then the highlight of the day is the mock ‘pirate invasion’ from the sea!  Two old-time sailing vessels, loaded with pirates make a Saturday surprise landing at the bowl-shaped George Town harbor with the pirates capturing the Governor.  Thousands of people line the streets to watch the spectacle and its all good-natured fun with a new twist every year.  Families just love it.  It’s the only event of its kind in the Caribbean region.

Whether you are visiting Little Cayman, Cayman Brac or Grand Cayman for their individual Pirates Fest celebrations, you are sure to have fun!  Become a fan of the festival on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and if you want to be in the ‘pirate invasion’ or volunteer for the festival then please contact us at events@piratesfestcayman.com

We hope to see all our Passenger Picks friends this fall, pirates and landlubbers alike with you, “arrrrr” ready to have lots of fun with us in the Cayman Islands.
