This tour was designed by Paul Deegan, a veteran of Cayman’s tourism industry for almost 20 years. My passengers love this Eco tour for Paul intentionally keeps it small and personal. In it he has combined some of the more typical attractions that are to be found in Cayman and also added some very unique ‘Eco-friendly’ aspects to the trip. Paul is a great guide and teacher. He limits the number of people on his boat to 10 so he is always focused on personal service and attention. The tour includes a trip to the mangroves, Starfish Point, Stingray City. This truly is a 6 hour, 6 stop adventure! The following is a sample of what you can expect from this awesome Eco Tour! Noon Depart Cayman Islands Yacht Club. Travel across the North Sound to the mangrove wetland forests, part of the environmental protection zone. Learn about mangroves and how they are essential to Caymans Eco system. Continue your adventure at Starfish Point where you can touch and hold the magnificent Caribbean Sea Star starfish. After Starfish Point, travel to either Rum Point or Kaibo for lunch on a secluded private beach. After lunch, depart for Stingray City where you can interact and hand feed Atlantic Southern rays in 3ft of shallow water. Arrival time at Stingray City is typically after 4:15pm when the majority of cruise ship and island tours have departed. Then its off to the Coral Barrier Reef for a snorkel with the thousands of brightly colored tropical marine fish. Explore the multitude of species and corals and who knows, you might even spot a moray eel or turtle feeding on sea grass! Time to unwind even further and return back to port watching the sun set over the western horizon. As you reach port, take a slight detour through the mangroves to observe iguanas making their bed in the trees for the night. Paul also has some evening sails and early morning stingray trips and folks can charter some day trips if they wish.
