One of the Cayman activities that more and more passengers are talking about is the Cayman In A Nutshell tour. We can’t think of a better way to get an overview of 
Grand Cayman than to experience the best spots with one of the most experienced tour operators on the island. Well, as this month’s Passenger Pick of the Month, we wanted to learn more about the story behind the Cayman In A Nutshell tour, so recently we caught up with Ronnie Anglin, creator of this popular excursion.
PP: Ronnie, tell us about the concept behind this tour that’s so well-liked.
RA: Well, the concept of ‘Cayman in a Nutshell’ was born on a train in Norway, part of a ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ tour that highlighted several of the more popular scenic routes, views and vistas in Norway, and we thought it would translate well into Caymanian!
PP: Fantastic idea. It really does translate well.According to our passengers, the average Cayman stay seems to be about 4-5 days.
RA: That’s our experience also. So if you only have a short time here and want to get the flavor of the Island, there really is no better way.
PP: So how did you choose which of the many ‘scenic routes, views and vistas’ of Grand Cayman you would include in Cayman In A Nutshell?
RA: Our family has been in the business providing our tourist guests with great Cayman experiences for over 60 years now. So it was easy coming up with a list. The more difficult challenge was choosing the best of the best.
PP: We can only imagine! Can you share what folks can expect when they start their day?
RA: Usually we start with an early morning visit to Stingray City and some snorkeling.
PP: Stingray City is a such a unique Cayman experience. Out on a sandbar in the open ocean and the Stingrays are so friendly! Glad you’ve included a snorkeling stop also. The water is so clear and the fish are so beautiful.
RA: Yeah, year after year Stingray City is our most requested stop. After that, it’s on to the town of Hell.
PP: Some of our passengers have told us they mailed a post card back to their friends and at home, postmarked at the Hell Post Office!
RA: That’s always good for a laugh, to be able to say that you’ve ‘gone to Hell and back’ on vacation. Actually Hell was named for the thousand-year-old calcareous rock out back behind the Post Office and the tacky gift shop, that has been blackened by fungus over time. It does have an eerie appearance. After that stop, then it’s on to the Turtle Center.
PP: Oh, that’s a great experience!
RA: It really is. It’s a one-of-a-kind, 23-acre adventure marine park, home to over 11,000 Green Sea Turtles, ranging in size from six ounces to six hundred pounds each. But it’s much more than just turtles, you can peer into their predator tank and come nose-to-nose with sharks and eels. Or wander through the beautiful free-flight bird aviary. Or interact with starfish, urchins and crabs at the touch pool. Guests can tour an actual working 
farm, both educational and entertaining, and turtles are available for folks to hold for an amazing and unique photo opportunity.
PP: Wow what an exciting morning!
RA: Yes! So, after all this excitement, we take a break on Seven Mile Beach for a taste of Cayman. In other words, we stop for a delicious local lunch.
PP: What does the local lunch include?
RA: Typically it will include fish or chicken, rice, potato salad, mixed vegetables, and a soft drink.
PP: Sounds great.
RA: So, the tour includes, Stingrays, snorkeling, Hell, Turtles, Island tour, Seven Mile Beach, and a local lunch. Then, after the tour, you will return to our capital, George Town, where you will be able to shop, visit one of the many rum cake stores, or wander through the historic Heroes Square area where you will see the Legislative Assembly, original Town Hall, Town 
Clock, Courts Building, and Library.
PP: Great. How long is the tour?
RA: The tour lasts approximately 5 ½ hours, and has an 8:15 AM departure, returning at 1:45 PM.
PP: What about transportation?
RA: Transportation is provided as part of the tour, boat and bus. And if you don’t have a car, it’s no problem. We will take care of you and your family and friends.
PP: What’s the cost of the tour?
RA: The price is $99US/person for ages 12 and over, but we’re offering a $10US per adult discount when you mention this Passenger Picks offer! Then it’s $79US/person for ages 4-11; and children under age 4 go free but you provide their lunch.

RA: Sure. We have a tour to the quieter side of the island. It gives those without a car or who simply don’t want to “drive on the wrong side of the road” and would prefer to have someone who knows the Island well drive them, show them the less populated and quainter side. We spend approximately 2 hours at our popular Rum Point
before returning to George Town or the Seven Mile Beach area.
PP: Will you also put together custom private tours?
RA: Absolutely. We specialize in private tours that offer that local touch!
